The Connswater Community Greenway has created a 9km linear park connecting people and places throughout east Belfast. The Greenway follows the course of the Connswater, Knock and Loop Rivers, connecting the open and green spaces.
McAdam led the Detail Design and Delivery of Phase 1, including the transformational improvement of Victoria Park and Orangefield Park. Victoria Park included the large-span Sam Thompson Bridge connecting to Titanic Quarter. Orangefield Park included extensive areas of wetlands, created as part of the flood protection measures and contributing to the increased biodiversity.
The Greenway has created vibrant, attractive, safe and accessible parkland for leisure, recreation, community events and activities, but also provided vital flood protection to over 1700 properties through use of Blue/Green design approaches.
