Another significant milestone on our North West Greenway Network project has been reached this week with the appointment of a Contractor to deliver the Bay Rd Bridge and Greenway scheme.
The scheme includes a 63m single clear span bridge across the Pennyburn Inlet, and 660m greenway along Bay Rd, connecting Derry’s Quayside Trail with Bay Road Park. It will form part of a continuous 12.5km greenway route from Derry to Muff, Co Donegal which has been designed and managed by McAdam.
McAdam is acting as project manager, civil & structural designers and principal designer on the Bay Rd Scheme and will administer the construction contract. Construction work is due to commence in late summer, once bridge design & fabrication is completed.
