Last week some of our Civil & Structural Engineers from our Water Design & Build Team undertook a site visit to the new NI Water 4,500PE Ballygowan WwTW. The soon to be completed works has been designed to use an Activated Sludge process, incorporating new inlet works with flow balancing, screening, grit removal, secondary treatment, final settlement and tertiary treatment with additional sludge storage and thickening, and storm water storage.
McAdams provided civil and structural design services and PD for the main Contractor, Geda Construction, on the £6.4 Million project, which will significantly improve wastewater services and accommodate future economic growth and development in the local area, as well as protecting the water quality within the Ballygowan River.
